No, Dallin is not modeling for GQ

Today in Church, Dallin was spotlighted. His teacher said that he has many talents....He is great at coloring, reading, golfing, and makes friends easily due to his great smile and his friendliness to those around him.
Dallin did say they forgot to mention soccer.

Jamie has his mission papers and they are in process of being filled out. He had his dental and his physical this week. Yes, the physical was uncomfortable. And no, he does not have TB...but they tested for that.

The Grands bring flower to Grandma Barbara's grave

Yesterday, was the one year anniversary of Barbara's passing. Although this picture was taken on memorial date, Julia, Rachel, Gracie, Tessa, and Taylor did make it back with their moms and Grandma and Grandpa to visit the grave site on the one year anniversary of Barbara's death. (Note that her birthday on the tombstone is wrong...it was the 18th of August...not the 8th.)

Camping with the kids Saturday, September 25, 2004

Last night the kids and I decided to go camping and leave Lisa and Emily with a quiet house. After a boat ride, we set up camp next to the lake at jordanelle.

The weather wasn't too cold that night, especially next to the fire. I guess dallin hasn't been camping in a while, because he was afraid to pee in the bushes, and when it was time to get his PJ's on he asked 'Is there a dressing room?'

Jeremy came along so we brought an extra tent. Unfortunately, we had never opened it before and it was a 4' wide kids tent. Jeremy slept the first half of the night in fetal position, but then when we woke up in the morning we saw a couple big legs sticking out the door of his cute little tent.

It was pretty cold in the morning, so we decided to leave early and get pancakes at McDonalds instead of making our own. The whole way home Amanda decided to play an odd version of name-that-tune with Dallin. She said 'Dallin, guess what this song is called.' Then she started singing some random combination of lyrics and tune. 'I don't know' Dallin replied, 'Wheres that song from.' 'No where,' Amanda said, 'I made it up.'

Building Bears with Grandma Wednesday, September 15, 2004

Today is Grandma Sandy's last day here to help. We decided to go to the "Teddy Bear Workshop". Dallin and Amanda picked out bears for themselves, and then helped make Emily one.

Dallin was sporting orange that day, and picked an orange bear as well. Amanda picked out a white bear with a pink nose, and they picked out a small brown bear for Emily.

Next they picked sounds to go into their bears, and had them stuffed. They controled the stuffing that went into the bears by stepping on a pedal.

After they put their bears together, they bathed them and gave them a name.

Dallin named his Boo Boo, but sometimes he calls him Fireball. Amanda picked Snowball for her bear, and they named Emily's Bedtime Bear, because of the "nighty night" song it sang.

After we were all done, they kids were excited to get their bears home to play with.

Gracie Goes to the Nursery Sunday, September 12, 2004

Well, Gracie is that age....she is old enough to have fun in the Nursery and is almost trained...last week she ran in to the room asking her mother for the "see about that". Joelle did not know what she was looking for until later in the day she found a tape measure and said "there is the see about that I was looking for." On her TV show when they want to determine if a child is old enough to do something, they grab a tape measure and say "we'll see about that!"

Reid Justin Wakeboarding

With Lisa still recovering, and her mother in town to help out, they decided to set me free on my birthday to have some fun. I met Jeremy & Jamie at the lake early Saturday morning. We got off to a rough start with a dead boat battery, but we evenutally figured it out. Check out the VIDEO section of this website to see a movie clip of Jeremy's new moves on the wakeboard.

We then came home and cooked up a mexican feast with Jamie's signature enchilada's and Jeremy's Puerto Rican jumping beans. We were a little too noisy for all the girls napping in the house, so we took Dallin and played some tennis. This was the first time Jamie saw Emily in person, and we were surprised when he agreed to asked to hold the baby. You may not know this but Jamie has a serious psychiatric disease known as umbilicordophobia.

After tennis, the boys took off and I went to the massage therapy school to get a treatment to top off the afternoon. For dinner, splurged on some PF Chang lettuce wraps.

The dessert received mixed reviews. Knowing my discriminating tastes, Lisa made an ice cream cake with 2 layers of whole-wheat egg-white brownies, and 1 layer of soy organic chocolate ice cream. Unfortunately, she was the only one who didn't like it.

After some presents, we put the kids to bed and watched a movie and then caught the end of the BYU game.

Biliblanket

Emily is now almost 5 days old. Lisa took her in to get her heel pricked again and found out that her bilirubin level is still pretty high.

The hospital sent over a 'biliblanket' so that Emily can receive phototherapy at home for her jaundice. Amanda was nice enough to share her sunglasses with her sister.

ROD! Rod guessed September 7th, but more inpressively, he guessed that Emily would be 7 lbs 0 oz. He was right on. Rod will receive a pack of Mountain Dew the next time his wife goes to the store (and what ever other soft drink Candee can buy with $5.00).

I'm so glad when Emily comes home...

...as glad as I can be. Yesterday, Emily and Lisa came home from the hospital. The kids were so excited. Let the sleep deprivation begin.

Yesterday also happened to be Amanda's first day of preschool on her own. It was a challenge to learn their school schedules and get them ready in the morning. And although Amanda looks presentable in this picture, her hair didn't last 5 minutes before falling out into her face.

I realized on the way to school (once it was too late) that I forgot to do anything with Dallin's bed head, and that he was wearing sandals on an 'gym class' day.

Emily seems to like her new home. There is an abundance of diapers and food to meet all of her needs. The diet also seems to be to her liking.

The kids are a great help. They can fetch a diaper and wipes in under 5 seconds flat. Amanda loves to hold her sister, but Dallin is a little more hesitant.

Emily Anna Robison Tuesday, September 7, 2004

Lisa checked into the hospital early this morning for her "scheduled induction". By 9am they had her hooked up to all the fun drugs and the excitement began.

A few hours of pitocin later, Lisa was ready for an epidural. Unfortunately the first attempt was unsuccessful and Lisa had to endure the pain as she progressed from a 3 to a 9.

The second epidural worked and after half a dozen big pushes Emily was born. She was 7 lbs 0 oz. 20.5 inches. Born at 16:40 on 9/7/04. Jenny was watching the kids at our house and when we called her to tell her the news, she told Dallin and Amanda that Emily is here. Dallin and Amanda got very excited and started hugging eachother saying "Yeah! Emily is here!"

The kids came to visit Emily right away and amanda ran in the room and said "She's soooo little!"

Grandma and Grandpa Robison came up too and brought toys for the big kids and the shiny yellow quilt Grandma made for Emily.

Labor Day Monday, September 6, 2004

With Lisa's true "labor day" scheduled for tomorrow, we decided to head for the lake for a little fun in the sun before the new baby arrives.

We weren't the only ones with that idea -- Deercreek reservoir was packed with boats. Notice the farmer's tan on the newly returned missionary, Kevin.

Taylor came along too, but she wasn't too happy when her mommy took off to do some wakeboarding.

Dallin and Amanda can entertain themselves for hours on the beach.

They let their mother relax a little for tomorrow.
