On September 10th, Lisa took the kids to a kids fair at one of the psychiatric hospitals where Reid works.
There was all kinds of free stuff. Emily loved the snow cones.
Taylor would never pass up a free snow cone. She has been hungry ever since Jenny stopped giving her a daily doughnut. (just kidding)

On 9/11, Reid celebrated his 29th birthday. Lisa and the kids made a big breakfast including veggie sausages.
After church, we made an indian food feast and opened presents.
29 is getting old and Reid has several gray hairs to show for it. At least he finished school before the big 30 though.

We in the middle of our extreme home makeover and the kids wanted to do some painting.
They stripped down to their underwear and went to work.
It was at least a week until the primer marks were gone from their arms and legs.

We're making a little progress on the house. It's a 1950's brick rambler with that ugly weeping mortar. About 2300 sq ft, 4 bd, 3 bath, with lots of unfinished space in the basement. Big yard with sprinklers but no landscaping. 
We've taken down a kitchen wall, which really opened things up. In the meantime we're living out of our appliances in the living room.
You like the fancy kitchen? It should be nice once it's all done. The metal cabinets need to be repainted. We debating between concrete versus granite for the counters (same price). And we're looking for a good travertine or limestone for the floor.
Every ceiling in the house had ugly popcorn texture. The living room had wood paneling. And all the carpet has to go and the hardwood floors underneath need some work.
The fireplace needs a facelift and we need some crown molding. We like the look of hardwood, but the guy who gave a bid on refinishing them wanted over $3000?!?! Anyone want to refinish our floors for us while we go on vacation?

For Emily's first birthday we had an evening BBQ. It was a great party, but early on Emily went head first off the deck stair. The picture you see here was before she got her bonk. 
We ate some of Emily's favorite foods. . . blueberries, peaches, grapes, and baked beans.
She didn't get into her birthday cake much. I think because she was tired and full from dinner. She did enjoy playing with the fork we gave her. 
After cake, Dallin and Amanda opened up all of Emily's presents for her. She enjoyed all of them.
The Moyers, Kamauus, Jer and Kar, and Kevin came to join in the celebration.

Emily is growing up fast (or so I thought). I took her to her well check today and she is 7% weight, 15% height and 97% for her head size. I think her brain is sucking all the nutrients from the rest off her body! Her Dr. thinks she is doing just fine, so I guess I won't worry about it.
