There's a farm in town that the city bought out and converted into walking trails. This time of year there are tons of scarecrows that people put up. Click on the thumbnail below for a bunch of pictures.

We went to a neighbor's birthday party last night at the Park City Ice Arena. The kids hadn't really ever been skating before, but they loved it. They are begging to go back, and all want ice skating birthday parties...

We found a new hiking/biking/snowshoeing trail right by our house. It starts out deep in the forest then goes up to 'summit peak'. Casey keeps up well and he is so obedient that he comes whenever his name is called, even if it is a steep climb up to us.

Emily and I have been going on a run in the forest almost everyday. Right now the colors are so bright and beautiful on the trees.
Emily likes to play with her friends. Next door is another 3 year old girl. We walked over the other day to see if the girl could play. They didn't answer, so I told Emily that they must be busy. She said, "They are to dizzy to play". After we got home Emily was playing and I was working. Emily told me. "Are we dizzy too?" It made her feel better that we had something to do too.

We went to the kids fair last week. Jenny, Taylor and Cooper came along. We saw Curious George, Belly Dancers (Karenin is way better than they were), and had lot of free food!

Tonight we had Reid's birthday dinner. Kevin and Jamie came over to celebrate. We had Moroccan couscous with chicken and lamb, french green salad, and chocolate Souffle for dessert. We also drank up the last of the homemade grape juice from our house over 2 years ago. I had it all planned out to have the souffle come out of the oven right after we finished dinner. The only thing that went wrong is that the candles melted on the bottom (candles melt if you put them in a hot cake). We went on a walk after dinner.

Today Reid is 31. So far for his birthday he had blueberry pancakes, turkey sausage and eggs. After we went on a run in the mountains. We saw a moose on our run. The tree are already turning beautiful colors in the mountains. The trail we ran on is only a couple minute run from our house (to the trail head).

I know this was a month ago, but after Emily's party today I plugged in the video camera to my computer and realized I haven't posted any footage from Dallin's party yet.

A new house means long trips to ikea for lights, storage, window coverings. The kids have fun in the play area, but the one hour limit doesn't give us enough time to navigate the massive warehouse self-serve area. One surprise is that a lot of ikea products (i.e. window coverings) don't even come with screws. And instructions tell you to get out your hacksaw and cut the metal.

We woke up this morning to find that our garbage can outside was tipped over, completely empty, and garbage was spread everywhere. We thought it might be racoons, but he footprints on the driveway were bigger than Lisa's. The picture's were taken after at least half of the mess had been cleaned up. A neighbor mentioned that they saw a bear get into their own garbage the other night.
