We've been researching and experimenting, and I think you'll like this pizza dough:
8 cups high quality white flour
3 cups, plus 4 T warm water
4 tsp salt
1 tsp dry active yeast
Mix in your kitchen aid mixer for 5 minutes on high, then 2 minutes on slow. Let rise for 2 hrs.
Roll it out nice and thin.
Cook it in your wood oven (i wish). Cook till crispy
Makes a bunch of pizzas
ok.. i've got to walk you through my bike ride yesterday.
I went from my neighborhood over the canyons ski resort and back (about 15 miles)...
(while joelle & lisa got pedicures and julia watched the kids)

First of all, you need to start this song playing for the experience. (or just start the youtube clip below, that has pretty much the same song)
It just popped up on my random shuffle playlist, but I thought it was very fitting for a bike ride because of the 1986 movie 'Rad'
(i loved that movie as a kid)
So here's a little slideshow.. crank up 'send me an angle', sit back, and enjoy.
Along the ride, we bumped into a bunch of people from the neighborhood. One couple was riding to their sons x-country meet at the canyons lodge. Another guy was hiking all the way to cottonwood canyon. He said he did that recently with his kids and walked all the way from park city to snowbird, then stayed over night the lodge sitting in the jacuzzi, eating pizza, then did the 6+ hr hike to come home again. Pretty cool.
Unfortunately, on the way back, a deer jumped out in front of eric and he went flying off his bike. He cracked his helmet, and had a sore hand, but he still looked ok as he rode home one handed. I saw him today at church and it turns out he broke 3 ribs and a couple bones in his hand. ouch.

A few highlights:
Day 1
- Joelle arrived with her 5 kids on Thursday night. The next morning they went to the outlets, and down to nordstrom rack, ate some cafe rio, then came back home. Jenny met them for shopping, then hung out at our place for a bit. That evening, the kids had their school carnival
Emily & Tessa loved the homemade ride (some metal welded together, with swings hanging from it, powered by a fan)
Day 2
- Joelle & Lisa went shopping again, I went on a bike ride (see above), and the kids hung out at home. After some mac & cheese for lunch, the kids spent all afternoon outside playing in the yard... swings, zip line, and exploring in the forest. the ended up making a 'nature club'.. they gathered materials (logs, old carpet, boards with rusty nails, a rusty paint can, string, etc..).. and they said it was 99% natural. to join the club, you have to help them make it. they even brought a pack of granola bars up to enjoy in the clubhouse
unfortunately rachel stepped on one of those rusty nails -- right through her flip flop.
Jer Kar & Sylie came up AND VIP JJ. So did Jen Tay Coop and Mason. And Jamie came too.
When Jenny arrived, cooper ran for casey but got more than he bargained for.
So we locked casey up for a bit so Cooper could throw rocks in the river in peace.
Day 3
- Church, lunch, a little viola/cello duet by amanda/dallin, and then the staley's were off..
Emily picked out a Halloween costume today.. check it out

just testing out the new camcorder... ours broke months ago and with babies coming it was a good time to replace it. It's full 1080p HD so expect some cool high def home video soon (that takes forever to load)..
I'm still trying to figure out the best way to post these... the one above is a little too small, and if you click full screen it doesn't show you the full high definition version.
And then this bigger version doesn't quite fit on the blog. It would look nicer in full screen, but because it's cut off you can't even see the full screen button. Hmmm.. Maybe a new blogger template will do the trick
