Amanda's Party Wednesday, May 31, 2006

Amanda had a wonderful birthday today. She started her day with her choice of breakfast. . . waffles topped with chocolate sauce and strawberries.

Then she opened a couple presents including the one Grandpa and Grandpa Gardner sent. She enjoyed having me say yes to everything she said. Yes she could watch TV, yes she could play computer games, and yes she could pick how she wanted her hair done. She loved that. Dallin wanted to know how much power she had on her birthday. Dallin asked, "can she decide if we move houses too?" Reid got the day off, so while he worked in the yard and Emily slept, Amanda and I went to the build a bear workshop to spend the cash from G&G Gardner. She picked out an outfit for her bear, and came home happy.

Before long, it was time for her party. Dallin agree to be the big helper, since Amanda didn't invite any boys but Dallin. He helped spin and push the fairy girls on the tire swing. That was a big hit!

We played pin the wings on the fairy, and then had Fairy cake and icecream followed by mac and cheese dinner.

Memorial Day Hike Monday, May 29, 2006

We took the kids on a hike up Millcreek Canyon this afternoon. They loved it and were asking to go on another hike when we got home.

Dallin liked climbing things.

Emily liked to play with sticks...

..and drink her bottle.

We had some more concrete poured a few days ago. The kids loved watching the big truck from the window.

Backyard path Friday, May 26, 2006

The first concrete pour went fairly well.

The kids like riding their bikes around the path and playing on the new swing set.

Backyard Progress Sunday, May 21, 2006

The kids have cabin fever because they're banned from the backyard this week. Crews are working hard to finish the concrete work before Amanda's big birthday party on May 31st.

The shed/playhouse is done. It's a shed underneath, with a playhouse in the attic. We will move the playset next to it and connect them with a little bridge.

We'll have a 2' retaining wall along the back fence, covered in stucco. Then a stamped/colored concrete sidewalk will wind around the perimeter of the yard for the kids to ride bikes on.

The weather has been so nice, and the kids are anxious to have their yard back.

We needed to redo our back patio because it was all cracked. While we're at it, we're going to put a little basketball court/play area next to it.

Lisa Turns 29 Thursday, May 11, 2006

Reid got the day off for my birthday on Sunday. Since it was fast Sunday, Reid and the kids let me open all of my presents in the morning.

After Church we headed down to the Robison's for Sunday dinner. Everyone worked hard in the kitchen while I sat on the couch and held Sylie while she slept.

We had steak, cornbread, and of course an icecream cake. Reid used Katy's cake recipe with raspberry sorbet in between. It was so good!

After a second round of presents, everybody stuck around to play a game. I had a lot of fun. Thanks everyone for a wonderful birthday!

Kevin is 24!

Kevin turned 24 years on Tuesday. He celebrated with the day off of work, and a birthday dinner at tepanyaki with a friends and family.

Some of Kevin's favorite pass times are inline skating at the skate parks, and of course snow skiing.

Happy 24th Kev!

Amanda, Dallin, and Jared wait for their next customer

A couple weeks ago we had a garage sale. Some of our good friends are moving away for residency. They brought over all of there stuff, and our kids and their kids sold shaved ice together. It was the warmest day of the year (in the 80's) so the kids sold a lot of shaved ice.

Emily and Kendra make music side by side

Then, Mark, Katy, and Kendra came to visit for a PE conference. Katy and I shopped, and the boys went golfing on Saturday. Kendra and Emily really liked eachother, but Emily started to get jealous. She wouldn't share her toys, and she wanted to be held whenever Kendra was being held. Mark and Katy got to go to a temple session in the Salt Lake temple, and then they watched our kids so that Reid and I could go out for a nice anniversary dinner. Thanks Again!

I love this pix of Emily because her PJ's say "Dr. in Training". I guess in this picture she is practicing sleeping in odd places. This month Reid is working about 12 hours a day.

When Emily sees a camera, she says "cheese!" and smiles

Emily is really at a fun age. She stands up in her highchair and says "sit down". She is in love with Dora. I sang the Dora theme song this last week at the grocery store to try and cheer her up.
Amanda had her spring singing concert this Thursday. She loves to sing and be the center of attention.

Emily, Amanda, and Taylor read books before bed

Last night we babysat Taylor. She was so cute about wanting to do everything all the other kids were doing.
