easter sunday Monday, April 13, 2009
We promised my Dad a shiny new family photo for his recent birthday, but had to wait until Easter to get everyone looking half-way decent. I've already posted a couple of these on facebook already, but for all you old school folks, here they are:
Build a Bear Saturday, April 4, 2009
Emily used some Christmas money from Grandma and Grandpa Robison to make a Build a Bear. She is a blue bear with sparkle in it. Her name is Melody. Melody sings a special birthday song when you press her hand. Emily picked out a beautiful ballerina outfit for her to wear. It was a very special day for Emily.
We had biscuits and gravy this morning for the first time in our house. Dallin and Amanda loved it, but Emily did not. Emily does not like anything that is saucy or has dips. The only sauce that Emily likes is ketchup and mustard. No mayo, no sweet and sour, no dressing, no gravy. She is a very dry kind of girl. We love Emily!!!! Love, Love, Love, Love .
PS Dallin and Amanda now have email addresses and Emily is totally jeleous.

St. Patrick's Day Saturday, March 21, 2009
On St. Patrick's Day Emily had a lot of fun. First, the Leprechauns turned her cream of wheat green. Then they turned the milk in the fridge green. Emily was surprised that they were able to open the fridge all by themselves since they are so small, but I explained that they have magical powers. At lunch she was amazed when I gave her a cup to fill with water, and the water magically turned green as the clear water went into the cup. She was also excited to eat green bread. Although she liked all those green things, she wouldn't touch her green cabbage in her coleslaw that night.
Here is also a picture of the twins on St. Patrick's Day. Their shirts say, "Twins are 2 cute". They sure are!

Ok, here's a very scary movie. You need to watch it in full screen mode, with the volume at full blast.
And here's the outcome

And then some dancing
and story time.
And then the grand finale: Tree Tales, a preschool musical
inspired by the books: The Snow Tree (Caroline Repchuk), The Tree Angel (Remy Charlip), and The Christmas Promise (Lark Carrier)..
Sorry, no video this time. (Although emily did ask if she could watch it afterwards)
Emily came up with a story during craft time, and this is how it goes:
Once upon a time, there was my brothers, my sister, and me, and we played together with cars, and our babies were having fun in their baby swings. And then they were having so much fun that all of us played together. And then we were having WAY funner than that. And then it was Christmas so we opened all our presents. And Christmas was really fun at least. Then they lived happily ever after.
That night we took the twins on their first dinner outing... Their first outing anywhere except the hospital and doctors office.. Dallin had flown to Canada by the time he was 2 weeks old.
Grandma & Grandpa Gardner invited us out to a new Red Robin in SLC.

the adventures of james & henry Tuesday, December 2, 2008
After spending a day under the lights, James was good to go..
so we busted him out of there yesterday morning.
..both twins back together.. (Henry did NOT sleep well without his brother on the first night, but they did surprisingly well last night)
Here is henry getting an A+ on his car seat exam.
And here they are at home
The kids made them a welcome home sign.. I took a picture but then Emily said 'Wait! It will be so much better if I'm in it."
She's right. She is always saying 'take a picture of me!' and then right after she says 'now put it on the blog!'
While we're on the topic of emily, I just had to run out to my car and get my handy dandy notebook that I keep in there for the funny (bizarre?) things she says while I drive her to school. This was from yesterday:
"Once I saw a commercial that said that skin chocolate is healthy. Is it?'
Umm. I have no idea emily. That sounds gross.
I gave her a banana that was a little banged up. She said 'A burnt banana?' and then asked 'Where do bananas come from?'
'Trees', I replied.
'Do monkeys...', she countered, '...wait, WHO makes bananas?'
I could hear the gears turning, trying to figure out how monkeys are associated with bananas. Do they make them and eat them, or just eat them. hmm.
Now back to the twins.
And the big sisters are sure enjoying them. This is emily holding... umm... I'll have to ask her.... I'm guessing james because of the outfit but I think emily will know.
Amanda had be take a picture of her holding James (i think), so she could print it and bring it to show and tell. She even told her teacher to check out pictures on the blog.
The twins had the 2nd bath of their life last night
This is a picture of Henry (I think? :), but it was funny when James got his first bath at the hospital, they tried to pull him out of the water but he grabbed on to the side of the little bucket and wouldn't let go.
Henry is good with his hands
He can hold up his binky by himself, and he can always sneak his hands out of his blanket, no matter how tight we swaddle him.
And some funny faces
Henry
James
Henry I think

Breakfast for mommy.. made by the kids
Lisa is home from the hospital on bed rest.
We came home to dinner from a neighbor, and a freshly painted nursery. The nursery ceiling was damaged last winter when a ice dam caused water to accumulate and leak into the house. A contractor had been repairing it, but when it snowed people kind of stopped coming up here due to the roads. We told him that Lisa was in the hospital and voila, the next day a painter came and finished it all up. He even vacuumed the room up when he was done
Quote of the day from Emily:
"Don't I look fashion with this outfit on and pretty with this lipstick on?"
(I asked her what fashion means and she rattled off a nice definition, saying she learned the word from a bratz commercial... sinccne she hasn't watch the bratz show or movie)
And while we're at it-- yesterday's quote of the day from Emily:
Jenny asked her if she was excited to have twin brothers, and Emily responded "Only if I can have those candies over there"
